In brief
What works, what to weigh
Strengths
4 reasons to book- Excellent on-site facilities for the price — Guests get free use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi, table tennis, and billiard tables, plus a BBQ and pizza day. Rooms include a private kitchenette, TV, lockers, and air conditioning.
- Great location near the action — About 1.9 km from Collins Avenue, with Washington Avenue, Ocean Drive, and the beach all within a short walk. A bus stop sits right outside for easy hops around South Beach.
- Social, international atmosphere — The beer garden, cafe, karaoke, and night club help create a place where guests from around the world mix easily. Staff like Cherie and Ashley are called out for going out of their way to help.
- Daily housekeeping in rooms — A cleaning person comes every day to tidy the bathroom and kitchenette, which isn't a given at this price level.
Worth weighing
4 to weigh- Inconsistent room conditions and noise — Some guests report air conditioning issues, people coming and going at all hours, and even drug use in the room. The party atmosphere that makes it fun for some can ruin sleep for others.
- Wi-Fi only in common areas — Free Wi-Fi is available, but it works in the lobby, not in the rooms, so don't count on streaming from your bed.
- Adults-only policy and limited reception hours — While check-in runs until 23:59, the 15:00 start and no allowance for children may not suit every traveler. Also, no pets allowed.
- Small rooms as a hostel — With 134 rooms and dorm-style setups, space is at a premium. A private kitchenette and bathroom help, but don't expect resort-sized rooms.

Guest-rated 5.3/10 from 1,647 reviews
5.3Verified guest“This hostel is convenient for exploring Miami Beach – Washington Street is 9 blocks away, Collins Avenue 11 blocks, and Ocean Drive 13. There are quick eats nearby like Subway and Domino's. I stayed three nights with my mother and we liked it. The room was clean and had a stove, sink, and bathroom. The bus stop is right on the corner; a Day Pass costs $5 and you can get it at Lee-Ann Pharmacy on 955 Washington Avenue. I hope this helps someone – when we arrived we had to ask the staff a lot of questions.”
5.3Verified guest“This place was great for me. I was lucky to be part of a fun group during my two nights. I booked a mixed dorm but they put me in a room with three other guys – they turned out to be excellent roommates. I met people from all over the world and learned a lot in a short time. Lots of beautiful people around, never boring. Really fun.”
5.3Verified guest“Really nice hostel with friendly staff, free swimming pool, jacuzzi, ping-pong table, and pool table, plus free pizza and BBQ day. Nice hang-out area. Rooms are clean with a private kitchen (stove and fridge), TV, bathtub shower, closet, lockers, and air conditioning. It's in a quiet area but close to everything – beach, bars, shops, supermarket.”
5.3Verified guest“The local bus stops right in front of the hostel, so you can get around South Beach for 25 cents. Great price if you don't feel like walking to the beach. People from all over the world. The lobby is really nice and comfortable, but Wi-Fi only works there, not in the rooms. Breakfast is included – bagel, butter, jam, egg, coffee. A cleaning lady comes every day to clean the bathroom and kitchen in your room. Hot tub, and they have club promotions.”
5.3Verified guest“Nothing good to say. Very unfriendly staff. I could only stay one night and had to cancel and move to another hotel. People were smoking drugs in the room, the air conditioning didn't work, and people came and went all night with no respect for sleepers. Easily the worst experience of my travels.”
5.3Verified guest“Location is decent for the price.”
